Paint
Waste paint is accepted at the Central Regional Waste Management Stations as part of Product Care's Regeneration Paint Recycling program.
All household paint products and containers. Paint aerosols of all types, including automotive, craft and industrial products are also accepted.
Used Tires
On-road tires can be disposed of properly through the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board's Used Tire Program. Program tires should be left with the retailer at the time of tire changeover at no additional charge. Tires can also be returned to any tire retailer at a later date in manageable quantities (4-5 tires) during the retailer's normal business hours.
Tires must be in whole form, free of mud and debris and must have their rims removed before they are returned for recycling.
Please note that ATV, OTR (off the road) and other industrial tires are not included in MMSB's program but are accepted for disposal at the Central Regional Waste Management Site and seven Transfer Stations during regular hours of operation. Fees apply.
Electronic Waste
Electronic waste is accepted at the Central Regional Waste Management Site and seven Transfer Stations as part of the Electronic Products Recycling Association's Recycle MY Electronics program.
Display devices (such as televisions and monitors), desktop printers, computers and peripherals (such as keyboards), home theatres in a box (HTB) systems , non-cellular telephones as well as audio and video systems.
Construction and Demolition
Construction and demolition waste such as wood, shingles, bricks or concrete can be dropped off at the Central Management Site and seven Transfer Stations during regular hours of operation. Fees apply.
Bulk Waste
Bulk Waste such as furniture, appliances, metals and other large items can be dropped off at the Central Management Site and seven Transfer Stations during regular hours of operation. Fees apply.
Fluorescent Bulb Eater Program
Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) are accepted at the Central Management Site and seven Transfer Stations. This service is provided free to residents. Businesses will be charged a fee of $1.00 per bulb/tube.
Beverage Containers
The Beverage Container Recycling Program is a deposit-refund system. When you purchase a beverage, you pay a deposit. You can return your beverage container to a Green Depot to receive a refund.
Remember, you can also recycle your beverage containers (including glass) by including them with your recyclables in your Transparent Blue Bag and placing them at the curb or roadside on your collection day.
