Guard Rail – Safety Concern
Transportation and Works has advised that the Guard Rail on Main Street South has been tampered with and will be repaired or replaced. There have also been reports of infill work done in the beach in that area. It is the town’s responsibility to make people aware of the requirement to go through the Water Resource Management Division of the Department of Environment for any infill within the High Water Mark. This information will be passed on to the appropriate people.

Collections Report
The Collections Report for the month of October was presented to and reviewed by members. Collections of arrears are slowly but steadily progressing.
Public Works: Water Report/Boil Water Advisory Lifted
The Boil Water Advisory was Lifted by Government Services on November 8th, 2024 as the results from the water test on November 5th were satisfactory.
Chlorine Pump
The Chlorine Pump was leaking and chlorine got into the plunger mechanism which corroded it and it seized up. The pump cannot be repaired.

Municipal and Provincial Affairs are offering virtual training to Council and Staff on the new Towns and Local Service Districts Act (TLSDA) on
Wednesday, November 27th – 9 am to 12 pm;
Saturday, November 30th – 9 am to 12 pm and
Thursday, December 5th, 2024 – 1 pm to 4 pm.
DM Blackwood asked to be registered for the November 30th session. Any other member wishing to register should contact the office.
MNL Conference
DM Blackwood gave an overview of sessions she attended during the MNL Conference she recently attended. One of the sessions offered free education on Cyber Security for towns with less than 25 members (Council and Staff combined). She will forward the information to the Town Office to avail of this opportunity.

Christmas Dinner
A proposed plan for the Christmas Dinner at the Rec. Center was presented to and discussed by members. The cost of the Dinner is paid by the Town in appreciation of its volunteers on the Fire Department, Junior Firefighter Program, Recreation Committee and Habitat Committee.

Ballfield
Information regarding the work to be done at the Ballfield to make it suitable, received from Ryan Ellsworth, was presented to and discussed by members.
Members were in agreement that since this is a costly venture we would look for grants under Recreation. Results will be brought back for further discussion.

2025-26 Municipal Capital Works
Members were in agreement that we cannot apply for the 2025-26 Municipal Capital Works funding as the next phase for the town has to be the feasibility study for 1 year and we will be able to do it ourselves. The study cannot start until the current approved phase has been completed.
Finance: Box Truck
Members discussed and viewed pictures of a Box Truck that is available for sale. Councillor M. Nippard left the meeting to take the info to the Fire Department and upon return reported that they were in favour of purchasing this vehicle.

Chlorine Readings for the month of October were presented to and reviewed by members. Readings were within the required guidelines.
Monthly Usage/Flow Data
The Monthly Usage and Flow Data Reports for the month of October were presented to and reviewed by members. The average daily water usage was 151,087 gallons per day.
Vehicle Inspection Reports
The Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Reports were presented to and reviewed by members.
Public Works: Waterline Leak
Members were in agreement to hire a contractor and obtain the permit from Transportation and Works to repair a waterline leak in the vicinity of 346 Main Street between the boundary and the main line as soon as possible.
Fire Dept: SCBA’s
The 6 new SCBA’s, 6 mask and 12 cylinders under the 80/20 funding from FES have been received. The remaining 6 cylinders have been shipped which should be here within a week.
