The following items are not accepted for curbside collection and must be disposed of at the Central Regional Waste Management Site or one of the seven Transfer Stations during regular hours of operation.


Many household products contain hazardous materials that are toxic/poison, corrosive, flammable, or reactive/explosive. These products can cause serious harm to the environment and pose a threat to human health when thrown in the garbage or poured down the drain or storm sewer.


HHW Materials Include:

  • batteries (household, car)
  • cleaning products, disinfectants
  • detergents, spot removers
  • bleach, ammonia
  • aerosol cans (full or partially full)
  • adhesives, contact cement, glue
  • rust remover
  • driveway sealer
  • medications, pharmaceuticals
  • rubbing alcohol
  • mercury (thermostats, thermometers)
  • nail polish and remover
  • motor oil and filters
  • antifreeze, coolants
  • brake and transmission fluid
  • chemicals, pool chemicals
  • fertilizers
  • insect repellents, flea powder
  • herbicides, fungicides
  • gas, kerosene, butane, lighters with content
  • propane, propane tanks with content
  • ethanol, methanol
