Business
Arising: New Taxes for Consideration
Further research is required and the results will be brought back to a future meeting for further discussion.
Shed/NL Powerline
Resident will be contacted to get an estimate of the cost involved in taking down part of the shed and moving it to the other end. It was agreed that Regulations need to be drafted from the current permit guidelines to prevent occurrences such as this happening in the future.
Recycle My Cell
General Agreement that the town would proceed with the Recycle My Cell Project using the Town Office as a drop off site during regular working hours.

Finance: Property Tax/Crown Land
General Agreement to inform the resident that if they have let the land revert back to the Crown, their account will be credited as soon as written notification is received at the office.
Public Works: Water Report

Fire Dept: Leak under pickup
A new leak was reported under the Fire Dept. pickup. At the previous Fire Meeting they couldn’t find the leak. Outside Worker will check it out.
Policy/Spotter
It was agreed that whenever possible a spotter should be in place while Fire Department vehicles are being backed into the Fire Hall.
Request to use Fire Hall
A request was received from the Pentecostal Board members to use the Fire Hall for their Family Day event if it had to be moved inside due to rain. They require high ceilings to set up a Complete Obstacle Course Inflatable and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Bouncy Castle on Wednesday, July 20th. It was suggested they try the school gym for their alternate location as the gym has more room and is much better suited for these activities.
Recreation: Rec. update
The Rec. Committee are hiring a couple of workers to help with the ceiling in the basement and lay flooring, hang and stain cupboards, etc. to finish the interior of the Rec. Center. Electrical should be finished by next week.

Municipal Awareness Day is scheduled for May 11th. Councillor Dale Howell will coordinate this event as in past years.
Clerk/Manager: PMA Convention
Clerk/Manager will attend this convention on April 20–22 in St. John’s.

Fire Department Heater
General Agreement to proceed with purchasing the same type of heater we currently have in the Fire Hall. Further to get the old heater back and inform Cull’s Electric that we can purchase the heater from Goodyear’s Electric at $1,485.00 plus HST.
Temporary Storage of Salt/Sand Mixture
General Agreement to store the salt/sand mixture behind the upper end of the Town Building as discussed.

NAPE Negotiations
General Agreement to inform the NAPE Representative that Council wishes to delay the NAPE Negotiations until the Municipal Affairs Budget comes down at the end of March.

A response should be received from the Town of Musgrave following their meeting Feb. 9th, 2016.
Committees
Finance: Collections Report
The Collections Report for the month of January was circulated and reviewed by members. General Agreement to proceed with the law firm to obtain the properties we have been working on as they have now become a health and safety issue.
Public Works: Salt/Sand Mixture
General Agreement to get 1 dump truck load of salt/sand mixture delivered to the town property for use throughout the remainder of the winter. In the spring, a more permanent solution will be looked into.
Icy Buildup on Road
Trans & Works cleared the road of the icy buildup and our Outside Worker dug a trench to allow the water to drain into the ditch. Area will be monitored in case there is a waterline leak there.
Public Works: Fire Hydrants
It was noted that several of the Fire Hydrants on Main Street South are buried in snow. It was agreed that the fire hydrants throughout the community need to be cleared as soon as the weather permits. Further that they should always be accessible for firefighting purposes throughout the winter.
Fire Dept: Items for Tender
The Fire Department currently has two old pumps that can go on tender. When the new pump arrives, they will have another one so it was agreed to wait till then to issue the tender.
New Pickup Leak
It was brought to council’s attention that the new Fire Dept. pickup has a leak in the rear end oil seal/cover. Work Order will be written to get the leak repaired and new oil is to be put back in.
Pickup Tender Opening
The tender for the sale of the old Fire Dept. pickup closes at noon on Monday, February 15th, 2016. A meeting to open the tenders is set for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15th, 2016.
