Carmanville Resident wins prestigious Award.
George Brinson, a lifelong resident of Carmanville, has been recognized by Ducks Unlimited for his outstanding contribution to the preservation of bird life in our area. Mr. Brinson was nominated by the Town of Carmanville and the Habitat Committee for the 2011 Lieutenant-Governor’s Greenwing Legacy Award. The Award was supposed to be presented to Mr. Brinson by Lieutenant-Governor John Crosbie last spring but Mr. Brinson was unable to attend.
On Wednesday, November 23rd, representatives from Ducks Unlimited and the Provincial Wildlife Division came to Carmanville to make the official presentation. Mr. Brinson has been banding birds in the Carmanville area for 30 years and is considered to be an authority on bird life on the North East Coast.
The Town of Carmanville hosted a reception to honor Mr. Brinson for his contribution to the protection of the habitat in our area.
